In Boston, an eight-year old son was denied enrollment at the St. Paul School in Hingham for interpreted discrimination against gay marriages. The son's mother being a Lesbian was the main component for his rejection at the Catholic School. Although the school denies discriminating against the mother's sexual orientation, there seems to be no other reason for the son's rejection of enrollment. Furthermore, the school accepts enrollments of students with divoriced parents, however the Church does not approve of divorce. So why aren't they accepting enrollment of students with gay parents? This is a violation of the student's civil rights because (as far as we know) the son himself is not gay and is being denied education due to his mother's sexual orientation. We feel that it is unacceptable to discriminate against a child for his parent's sexual orientation and deny his desired school of education. If the school will accept the enrollment of divorced parents even though the Church does not believe in divorce, it should not ban the acceptance of children with gay parents.
